Toys for Trees

Spreading some Christmas Spirit in 2021

We are excited to be supporting the Christmas Appeal this year with a donation of 60 Christmas Trees.

We know how hard 2021 has been for so many families in our local area so we wanted to spread some Christmas Spirit in the community. While we would like to be able to sell trees as well we could only secure 60 from our prefered supplier and think the Christmas Appeal and giving back to the community is is great reason to donate them instead.

Toys for Trees starts Monday 22nd November with Power FM.

To get one of the 60 Christmas Trees simply donate a new toy to the Christmas Appeal (take it to 56 Lydiard Street, Radio Ballarat - from 9am Monday) and if you are one of the first 60 with a gift the great reception team at Radio Ballarat will take your details and you will get your tree delivered on Dec 1.

You might decide that the best way to keep the community spirit building is to 'pay it forward' and get the tree delivered to someone you know that really needs a little surprise for Christmas.

The best thing about these trees is that they are living. Each year this tree will be ready for decorations, it will grow if your family and be a positive story to tell from the challenges of 2021.

We’ve also heard that Santa and an Elf are stopping by on the 1st to help hand deliver the trees!

Get in a garden, get healthy, have fun Garden Releaf is a way to connect people and communities with the health and wellness benefits of plants, gardens and gardening. Garden Releaf Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of living greenery in your life and sees garden centres across Australia coming together with ideas, information, inspiration and events to encourage you to celebrate the joy of colour, plants and gardens to enrich our lives. Since 2015, garden centres and industry suppliers have raised over $330,000 for Beyond Blue through Garden Releaf. Spot on Pots and Nursery are joining in on March 21, 2021. Spending time in a garden has numerous benefits to a person's physical and mental well being. Garden RELEAF was established to encourage everyone to spend more time in a garden. It's not about just about digging and toiling; for some it's about simply enjoying everything a garden has to offer; fresh healthy produce, beautiful, invigorating fragrance and textures, clean air, lush foliage, flowers and natural beauty. In addition to knowing that people now are focusing more on improving their health and well being we sadly know that 3 million Australians are living with depression or anxiety. garden RELEAF is dedicated to raising awareness of how being in a garden or simply enjoying the produce from one can benefit us all. We aim to encourage more people to get out and enjoy a garden for their own health's sake and where possible to take someone else with them. Spot on Pots and Nursery will have Kombi for a Cause coffee and The Hippie Whippy ice-cream onsite. The HiveMind Community Apiary official launch at 11am. 'Lil Monsters Face Painting from 10 - 12.
